Hi, I’m Jasper Flint (they/them), a 5th year doctoral candidate in clinical psychology, currently completing my internship.
Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. You can show up messy, quiet, confused, angry, curious—however you are. I believe that emotions aren’t problems to be solved; they’re messages, signposts, stories, and sometimes even protests from parts of you that need care.
Using Emotion Focused Therapy shaped by Gestalt, humanistic, and mindfulness-based traditions, I hope I can offer a space where the full complexity of who you are is honored and offered gentleness and care. Together, we’ll listen closely to what your inner world is saying. We’ll hold space for the parts of you that feel hurt, we will celebrate the parts of you that feel excluded, and, hopefully, we will hold space for an honest exploration of your needs. I’ll offer a few skills and, more importantly, I will honor the ones you have already found and work to investigate why you are struggling to use skills you wish you could.
While I see people of all different ages and identities, I am especially excited about working with trans, gender expansive, and LGBTQIA+ folks, BIPOC folks, and people who are wrestling with the uncomfortable experience of facing marginalization. For many, this world is often not entirely gentle. I believe that when that happens, it is even more important that you are afforded the time and space to process, to heal, and to regrow so that you can continue your vital work of making space in the world.
If you find yourself here, know that you’re not alone. I’d be honored to walk beside you.
I am a white, Queer, trans masc enby, who identifies as neurospicy/neuroqueer. I hope that I can connect with you – not just in spite of, but because of our similarities and differences.
